When gazing at a set of trees and other plants in a large densely wooded area, wet end to view the ‘big picture’, identifying the forest as a ‘whole’. Yet, what happens when we adjust our perspective to notice the details involved, like the forest floor or ground, the colors, the shapes and sizes of the individual plants? When I contemplated the cycle of life on the forest floor, for example, I appreciated it is where leaves fall and decay along with where new growth begins.
